Our Story

How Krua Chambers Came to Be

Krua Chambers opened its doors in Chiang Mai after years of observing how families navigating separation and parenting disputes were often left confused by the legal system — not because the law was unclear, but because those explaining it were not taking enough care to be understood. Our founding partners felt that a different kind of practice was possible: one built around listening, explaining, and walking alongside people rather than simply processing their cases.

The name "Krua" reflects exactly that ambition. In Thai, krua speaks to the family hearth — the place where people gather, feel safe, and belong. We wanted our practice to carry that warmth into spaces where it is often absent. That means quieter waiting rooms, conversations that are never rushed, written summaries after every meeting, and phone calls that are returned the same day wherever possible.

Over the years, we have supported families across a wide range of circumstances — straightforward consultations for people who simply needed to understand their position, cooperative arrangements between parties who wanted to avoid a court process, and full proceedings where matters required formal resolution. Whatever the path, our approach stays the same: we listen first, explain carefully, and remain a steady presence through to the end.

Our office sits on Tha Phae Road in the heart of Mueang district — close enough to be accessible, quiet enough to hold a private conversation. We serve clients from across Chiang Mai and the broader northern region, and we welcome those who are navigating family law matters involving both Thai and international parties.

Standards We Hold

Our Professional Commitments

These are not aspirations — they are the baseline expectations every person at Krua Chambers is held to.

Thai Bar Association Membership

All practising members hold current membership of the Thai Bar Association and meet continuing professional development requirements each year.

Client Confidentiality Protocol

Every matter is handled under strict attorney-client privilege. Information is never shared without your explicit consent, except where Thai law specifically requires it.

Written Summaries After Every Meeting

You receive a written record of what was discussed and agreed after every consultation — so nothing important is forgotten and you have something to refer back to.

Same-Day Response Commitment

We respond to all enquiries and client messages within the same working day. If we are in court, a colleague ensures you hear back before close of business.

Child Welfare Consideration

In any matter involving children, we apply specific care to ensure that all advice and agreements reflect the wellbeing of minors as a central — not secondary — concern.

Transparent Fee Disclosure

We provide a clear written fee estimate before committing to any work. There are no unexpected charges; any cost that arises is discussed openly with you first.

Family Law in Chiang Mai: Our Scope and Values

Thai family law covers a wide range of circumstances, from the straightforward to the complex. Separation, divorce, parenting arrangements, child custody, and related property matters are among the areas we handle at Krua Chambers. Our scope is intentionally focused — we work in family law specifically, which means the people you speak with have depth in this area rather than broad generalism.

In northern Thailand, and in Chiang Mai in particular, family matters often involve international elements — parties from different countries, marriages registered abroad, or children with dual nationality. We have experience working through the additional considerations these situations bring, and we collaborate with specialist contacts where further expertise is needed.

Our practice values directness. We do not inflate the seriousness of a matter to justify a more expensive path, nor do we minimise concerns to avoid difficult conversations. You hear an honest assessment from us, along with a clear explanation of your options. What you choose to do with that information is yours to decide, and we support whichever direction you take.

Accessibility matters too. Legal advice should not feel intimidating to seek out. Our office on Tha Phae Road is straightforward to reach, our staff speak both Thai and English, and initial enquiries are always welcomed without pressure or obligation. Reaching out to find out where you stand is a reasonable first step — and it is one we are here to help with.
